Colegio de San Lorenzo

Colegio De San Lorenzo was founded in 1988 by the devoted Catholic couple, Cirilo Lloyd Balga and Annette Balga as a response to the call by the Catholic Church on the development of the Filipino youth in service of God. Known colloquially as SanLo or CdSL, the college was first established at Congressional Avenue, Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City. Its Macabebe, Pampanga campus followed in 1996. From its two-storey campus offering pre-school and primary grade levels, the school expanded its curriculum to tertiary education in 1993 and began to offer post-graduate degrees in 2012. In line with their mission of providing holistic and quality education, Colegio de San Lorenzo has bachelor degrees on communication, psychology, computer science, elementary education, tourism management, hotel and restaurant management, and business administration. They also offer a Licensure Examination for Teachers Eligibility Course. In consortium with St. Joseph’s College of Quezon City, SanLo began to open applications for those interested in taking up Master of Arts in Education major in Guidance and Counseling, Special Education, and Education Management. The school is also housing pre-school, grade school, and high school departments. SanLo is known for producing board passers in the fields of psychometrician and library science. Additionally, their School of Tourism and Hospitality Management has been joining various tourism competitions to mark their name in the industry. Fast Facts Students at SanLo are called Russians, and their moniker is a griffin which can also be seen on the school seal. Their varsity team is called the Gritty Griffin and has been a Universities, Colleges, Schools Athletic Association (UCSAA) senior basketball champion for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015. Colegio de San Lorenzo was declared as the overall champion in the last 4th Intercollegiate Tourism Skills Competition held at Lyceum of the Philippines Manila.
